What better way to conclude a good meal than with a delicious coffee? After the initial taste of the EP «Primi Piatti» and the sandwich collection from the album “Paninoteca” ORSO invites you to take a caffeinated break with “Caffè?”. The Swiss bear transforms into a trendy barista; on the menu, four tracks and as many versions of the little roasted beverage, from the intense Ristretto to the decadent Affogato, including the timeless Espresso and the immense Americano. The elegant artwork aptly reflects the strong musical character of the powerful instrumental quintet from Lausanne. The three guitars come together to create a thick wall of sound punctuated by ethereal arpeggios, while the rhythmic section tirelessly develops its complex and effective structures.
The band’s usual influences (Cult of Luna, Terra-Tenebrosa, Russian Circles…) are present, albeit always with the unique je-ne-sais-quoi that defines ORSO’s music; a fine balance between bitter atmospheres and sweet harmonies. The entire work is brought to life by Magnus Lindberg (mixing) and Raphaël Bovey (mastering).
“The resulting blend of dense, earthy rhythms and bright, enthusiastic melody comes together like rich, steaming espresso poured over smooth, sweet ice cream. It’s a delicious combination in real life, and equally satisfying in music form.“
