COLMAAR emerges from the ashes of When Icarus Falls, an iconic Lausanne-based band that left its mark on the post-metal scene for two decades. With a legacy of four albums and more than 100 concerts across 12 countries, the members chose to reinvent their musical approach under a new identity. ETERNEL marks the beginning of this new musical journey. The album was recorded and mixed at Studio de la Fonderie in Fribourg, under the direction of Chris Noth. Mastering was entrusted to Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna) at VRTKL Audio studios in Stockholm. The result is an album with a dark and introspective atmosphere that explores themes of solitude, the search for meaning, time, and fatality. While maintaining the emotional depth that characterized When Icarus Falls, the band explores new sonic territories, creating music that resonates with contemporary existential questions.
